Burapha University International College is working to improve the quality of research
Burapha University International College is working to improve the quality of research by joining a university consortium from Southeast Asia and Europe under the Erasmus + Capacity Building in Higher Education “Assessing and Improving the Research Performance at South East Asian Universities (REPESEA) scheme. This project consists of the 11-member consortium of high-level universities is from seven countries, namely Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Slovakia, Poland, Britain and France.
The Eleven universities in the consortium which are Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) and Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) (Indonesia), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and Universiti Teknologi MARA (Malaysia), International College of National Institute of Development Administration (ICO NIDA), Burapha University International College (Thailand), University of Economics in Bratislava Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica (Slovakia), Warszwa School of Economic (Poland), University of Bath (UK), and University of Clermont Auvergne (France).
Dr.Kumutinee Worasuwan, Dean of Burapha University International College is appointed to be the steering committee of this scheme. This scheme aims at improving research quality and capacity building of higher education institutions of its members and also the universities outside. Moreover, the project will help to equip the facilities for research such as computers, video conferencing facilities in order to assist the capacity of lecturers in the institution.
This project has received funding from the EU for three years until 2019. The initiative includes the creation of a module by holding a workshop that maps the condition of each university. So the modules are created according to the context. Workshop has been held three times in Bratislava, Slovakia, March 2017; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, August 2017; and at Yogyakarta, November 2017.
