A Case of Study of Blue Flag: Marine Tourism and the ERASMUS+ ICM Scholarship Program
Professor Fernando Merino de Lucas is a visiting professor from the University of Murcia in Spain. On Monday 25 July 2022, he gave a seminar titled ‘A Case Study of Blue Flag: Marine Tourism and ERASMUS+ ICM Scholarship Program’ to BUUIC faculty, staff, and students. The seminar was presented both online and onsite. The Blue Flag is a foundation for environmental education, and their movement mainly promotes pure water, clean coasts, safety, and access for all. Moreover, their work truly supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), designed by the United Nations. BUUIC believes that faculty members can apply the ideas of Blue Flag and SDGs in their classrooms and their research. BUUIC also believes that students could start thinking about what they can do to contribute to the environment and society. Professor Merino presented a lot of information about the ERASMUS+ ICM Scholarship Program. BUUIC students can study at the University of Murcia for one semester with full financial support from the ERASMUS+ foundation. What a great opportunity! BUUIC would like to express our deep gratitude to Professor Merino the time and effort he devoted to BUUIC.
